Trichotillosis - (Formerly known as Trichotillomania)

Trichotillosis is a disorder caused by habit, such as biting of nails.  The condition manifests in an individual as the compulsive desire to pull or twist one's own hair often from the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes. If this condition is left untreated and continues for long periods of time then scarring may occur.

Hair loss in children can be distressing for both the child and parents, carers and loved ones. Conditions such as diffuse thinning, hair shedding along with some types of Alopecia can be experienced by children.  At Ilkley Moor Trichology Clinic we aim to provide you with the best treatment and advice tailored to each individual.

Please notify the clinic when booking if you are bringing a child under the age of 16.
